Remote ID

What is Remote ID?

Remote ID Module Setup for Alta X

Drone Amplified's Remote ID module is fully compatible with Alta X systems. The module is powered directly from your aircraft, so there is no need to deal with additional batteries or charging. The Remote ID module is compliant with FAA regulations. Follow the one-time installation instructions to get your module setup today.

1. Identify the Panel Cover

The appropriate side panel cover will need to be removed to install the Remote ID module. This panel cover is second from the right of the Alta X's GPS module (see video).

2. Remove the Panel Cover

To remove the panel cover, unscrew the two panel cover screws with a 2.0 mm hex driver. A 2.0 mm hex driver is included in your original Alta X kit.

3. Identify the VTX Cable

Identify the VTX cable located inside the chassis at the base of the boom. In Step 5, you will connect the VTX cable to the Remote ID module. To make this easier, it's recommended to first move the VTX cable outside and below the chassis.

4. Insert Remote ID Module

Insert the Remote ID module into the open side panel and thread the Remote ID cable through and below the chassis to sit next to the VTX cable.

5. Connect Remote ID Module to VTX cable

Connect the Remote ID module cable to the VTX cable. The connectors are keyed such that they should not be able to be connected the wrong way.

6. Secure the Remote ID Module and Panel Cover

Secure the Remote ID module in place by connecting to the panel cover with the original panel screws. Then screw the panel and Remote ID module back into the aircraft chassis.

7. Power the Remote ID Module

When you power-on the Alta X, the Remote ID module will automatically turn on. You will see a solid green LED while the module searches for GPS. Once the module confirms a GPS connection, the LED will slowly blink green and you are ready to fly.
